2027, sera l’année du 150e anniversaire de la naissance de la célèbre danseuse et chorégraphe Isadora Duncan et le centenaire de sa mort. En 1917, Isadora Duncan, qui a révolutionné la danse moderne, crée le solo La Marche Slave, à l’annonce de la chute du Tsar Nicolas II. Un geste radical et spontané, contre l’oppression du peuple russe mais aussi subversif et émancipateur en affirmant la libération du corps de la femme, porté et emporté par le chaos du monde. De ce solo précurseur qui a suscité scandale et admiration, il ne reste que très peu de trace. Face à l’absence, Benjamin Silvestre cherche à remettre en corps l’histoire de ce geste féminin en résistance qui par la danse cherche à se libérer et affirmer sa place.
2027 will mark the 150th anniversary of the birth of the famous dancer and choreographer Isadora Duncan and the 100th anniversary of her death. In 1917, Isadora Duncan, who revolutionized modern dance, created the solo *La Marche Slave* upon hearing the news of the fall of Tsar Nicholas II. A radical and spontaneous gesture against the oppression of the Russian people, it was also subversive and emancipatory, asserting the liberation of the woman’s body, carried and swept away by the chaos of the world. Very little remains of this pioneering solo, which sparked both scandal and admiration. Faced with this absence, Benjamin Silvestre seeks to re-embody the history of this feminine gesture of resistance, which, through dance, seeks to liberate itself and assert its place.
